What
are my choices in colors?
Since we mix all paint
colors at our shop, we have a literally infinite color selection.
We can even match colors to cars, bikes, or pictures in magazines
(it helps if we can get a paint code number, though). Our Airglow
Paint Guides include a sample paint chart, but remember these
are just suggestions.

What
kind of paint do you use?
We primarily use the PPG
Omni system. Omni is an industrial grade polyurethane paint, originally
created for
heavy
machinery and utility vehicles. The paint is durable and perfectly
suited for use on bicycles. On many bicycles where exact color matching
is needed, we use PPG's Deltron system, which has a higher resolution
but a bit less durability. On all paint jobs we us PPG's 2042 Deltron
clearcoat, which offers the highest resolution and durability available.
All our painters are certified PPG refinishers.

Can
you paint my bike like this...?
We can paint fades, stripes,
flames, metal flakes, or virtually any other way you like. Standard
frames, such as Pinarellos, are a breeze--we've got whole decal
kits pre-assembled. And we're always willing to try new ideas. We've
done flag prints, hunter and urban camo, zebra stripes, various
other animal patterns, and the list goes on. And yes, we can paint
your bike gloss black, if that's what you like.

What
about decals?
We can apply or create
virtually any decal. See the the All
About Decals page for an in-depth look.

- Can you paint titanium?
Titanium can be painted just like any other metal frame material.
Ti was originally left unpainted to save weight and increase cool
factor...but really, bare metal is so boring...
- What about carbon?
Carbon is also paintable, but with an extra charge and time allowance.
We have to prep carbon by hand--the material can't be beadblasted.
We cannot, however, restore an original carbon finish to a frame that
was previously painted--this has to be done straight from the factory.

Can
you describe the painting process?
Yes.

Do
you repair frames?
Wildframe
performs all frame repair for us. They offer all types of frame
work, including dropout modification, braze-ons, tapping and facing,
brazing, welding, frame alignment, tube replacement, and even wheel
building. The quality of work is excellent and the pricing is very
modest. We're proud to work with WildFrame. Call Tamara at (404)
753-6914.

Will paint stripping harm my
frame?
Absolutely not. Our preferred
method of paint removal is bead blasting (some companies call this
shot peening). This method of surface texturing is widely used throughout
the bike industry as a finish on parts such as handlebars and seatposts.
If beadblasting has any structural effect on the metal, in strengthens
it.

-
Do
the components need to be removed before painting?
Yes. We need to receive
the frame from you with all the parts removed, including the fork
and headset. We will remove the cups if you can't get them out.

Where is your shop located?
We are located in the
small, historic town of Washington, Georgia.. Needless to say, most
of our customers ship their frames to us. If you are in the area
and prefer to drop off your frame, call beforehand and we'll give
you directions to the shop.

-
How do I ship my frame to you?
See the How
to Ship a Bike Frame page for a step by step procedure.

-
What's the turnaround time?
Turnaround varies greatly,
depending on the complexity of the job and our current backlog.
We try to schedule our time slots for a projected 2 week turnaround
time. This can vary though, from one week to one month. Decals and
detailing significantly add to the time needed.

-
How
much is this going to cost?
Pricing for a rigid frame
and fork is $150 for a single color, $25 for each extra color. Look
at our extended pricing for more in-depth information.

-
What's
the payment policy?
Credit card is our preferred
method of payment, by Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. Credit
card payment is quick and doesn't involve extra charges for handling.
COD is the next best way.
